How to promote your business on the California Blender

If you've read the site rules, you should know that direct promotion and advertisement of businesses and services is not permitted; however; having said this, businesses are not prohibited from promoting on the site. Here's the acceptable way to do it:

Dos:

1. Create a profile - On this site, you may create a profile for personal or business purposes. Create a business profile and fill it with content about your business including general and contact information. When you create your profile, it's automatically placed in a business directory for searching by city and business category.

2. Promote your business by posting blogs or forum discussions regarding topics which are of interest to the general public. For example, a pest extermination company may post a blog about the effects of weather on the increase in indoor infestations. The blogger can then state that for more information or questions, you can visit their profile page. What you can't do is merely post an advertisiment in the blog or forum sections stating "For the best pest control, call Joe's Pest Control Service at 111-1111" - this is unacceptable. The key method is to contribute meaningful content to draw people to your profile page - this is indirect promotion.

3. For businesses which do not have their own websites, your profile page is given a URL address which you can use to refer potential customers to your profile page for more information about your business or service.

Don'ts:

1. Don't place direct advertisements on the blog, discussion forum sections of the site.

2. Don't directly solicit members of the site to purchase or join affiliate marketing programs or other social network sites.

3. Don't spam site members or non site members.

4. Don't promote "adult" businesses.

5. Don't promote businesses which are criminal in nature.

Please remember that conducting prohibited business on the California Blender site could ultimately result in getting reported to the appropriate authorities (if applicable) and getting banned from the site.
