what are we going to do w/ all those cigarette butts. They say they account for 30% of all the litter. Not only is it unsightly all the chemicals leach into our ground water.

I don't suggest another tax. but how about a CRV on the butts. look at all the people collecting cans, now apply this towards cigarette butts and we'll have one clean city.

Ed...I know what you mean! I end up with those unsightly butts in my gutter all the time. It's really a downer to have to clean up someone else's bad habits! I don't know how well a CRV on the butts would work, but it might keep them from being tossed out a car window, if they had a price on them. You never know!
I feel you bro. I use to smoke cigarettes but quite. My wife still smokes and it dose bug me but it's not worth ww3 to nag the issue. My remody is I took a 5 gallon bucket and put a hole in the top and filled it 1/4 full of water. Now all the butts go in and I strain the fillters out and use the liquid as my own personal industrial stregth insectacide. It's amazing how well nicatine kills all the bugs. Even the ones the exterminater can't kill.LOL
That is funny.
just think if people got a penny to 5 cent for each cig. butt turned in. Our area's would be cleaned up in no time. And the poor homeless people would have a second stream of income besides the alum. cans.
I agree with you and if this does make it to the congress i'll surely vote for it. In my dailey work travels(yardcare, commercial and residentuial) I come across hundreds of cig. butts, unsightly and disgraceful, if they were made to be as valued as alunimun cans, I could retire off what I pick up or blow off parking areas everyday!!!!
